IRON CURTAIN

The object was created by applying numerous blows with an awl to tin sheets; the creation process itself is a symbolic and rather aggressive dialogue of the artist with the resistant material. This is an attempt to physically break through not only the informational and ideological screen associated with the isolation policy of the Soviet Union, but also the boundaries of consciousness: punctures “draw” an abstract two-sided image of the sky in which the viewer can see his own images. So, a utilitarian fence becomes not just a barrier and acquires lightness, airiness, glimmers of hope.
